San Diego Maternity Military Homecoming
I seriously felt so honored to capture Crystal and Austin’s San Diego military homecoming! They have a baby boy together and will be expecting their second later this year.
Standing at the pier in all of that emotion was truly amazing. I really look up to the men and women that leave for months at a time. It takes incredible strength! We waited for what I’m sure felt like forever to Crystal. When the boat pulled up we anxiously scanned the sailors looking for Austin. After some time, he came off the ship and ran straight to Crystal. Lucky for me I was prepped to take as many photos as possible in a short amount of time!
While editing the images later I looked at the time stamps, and the initial meeting lasted a whole TWO MINUTES before they were off and running together! We did a quick five minute session at the gate, but like anyone would be, they were ready to have their time alone after many months apart. This is to be expected for military homecoming sessions as well.
Take a look at how much love there is between these two, though. Something about a maternity military homecoming gets me every time. Many may leave newly married men, only to return as very soon-to-be fathers. It’s just so beautiful to think about.
